Kyrie Irving and James Harden lead Nets to overcome Knicks challenge

James Harden and Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving led the scoring chart, while James Harden notched another triple-double against his name as the Brooklyn Nets beat New York Knicks. It wasn’t the smoothest of victories as the Knicks came really close in the end to tie things up, but it wasn’t to be the case with Kyrie Irving and James Harden on the floor.

Talking about the New York Knicks, they were led by Julius Randle who registered a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. While RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley were also impressive in adding 23 and 21 points respectively. Bullock too registered 19 against his name.

With Kevin Durant still sitting out, both Kyrie Irving and James Harden were able to lead the Nets on both ends of the court. Harden scored 21 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists. With Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers also winning their latest encounters, it was important for the Nets to maintain the same intensity.

After this loss, the New York Knicks have lost their 3rd regular season game in their previous 5. Julius Randle seemed highly frustrated when the referee did not call a foul of the very last play which could have tied the game potentially, with an appeal for a foul, Randle was called out for a travel which allowed James Harden to get to the free-throw line to drain both the shots to seal the victory for the Nets.

Having said that, the Nets have now won 5 consecutive games and seem to be on the rise yet again to rally up a string of consecutive wins.
