Kyrie Irving becomes first of infamous Nets trio to reach Conference finals
Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks sealed a trip to the Western Conference Finals by winning Game 6.
Kyrie Irving becomes the first of infamous trio including Kevin Durant and Hames Harden of the Brooklyn Nets to reach a conference Finals
For Kyrie Irving, basketball career has come full circle. He has reached the Conference Finals series for the first time in 7 years with the Dallas Mavericks. Most importantly, he is the 1st of the infamous superstar trio of the Brooklyn Nets to reach a conference finals. The other two, James Harden and Kevin Durant have not made it past the semifinals.
Kyrie Irving and his teammates beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in game 6 today to secure their berth in the Western Conference Finals. Irving was both delighted and relieved. Suggesting that it was the hardest playoff series he encountered in his career. Meanwhile Kevin Durant and James Harden, also on different teams have yet to crack the semifinals. This is a small victory for the former NBA Champion as he was often criticized for making his off-the-court issues plague his on-court performances.
Kyrie Irving joined Kevin Durant on the Brooklyn Nets intending to win multiple championships. They never could come close to reaching that target. Various on-the-court and off-the-court issues made it difficult for the duo to find success.
Then later when James Harden joined, there was renewed hope that the trio could win a title or two. Again, due to a multitude of problems they underachieved. Since then, all 3 were constantly questioned about their ability to lead teams deep into the playoffs. Irving has finally done it, while the other two are at home resting.
Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks goal is an NBA Title
Kyrie Irving and his Dallas Mavericks might be getting some much-needed rest. However, their opponents in the Western Conference Finals will be playing their game 7 tomorrow. Both teams have been conference leaders at some point in the regular season. If it is the Denver Nuggets, then Irving and his teammates will have to bring out their A-game.
The defending champions know what it takes to win when the stage gets tough. Even though Irving knows how that feels, his teammates are young and inexperienced. However, he could gain the upper hand if they are to face the Minnesota Timberwolves. They are also inexperienced and predicate their game around physicality and athleticism.
Irving, with his experience, could probably guide his team to take advantage of that. If he and his teammates could make it work, they would have a title shot for the 1st time in 13 years.
