The No.2 overall Memphis Grizzlies pick JA Morant reveals that he wants to like Brooklyn Nets’ star Kyrie Irving. Ever since he has been picked in by the Memphis side, Morant has been nothing but impressive. From scoring points, to being the young leader around which the team plays, Morant has done it all in his first season. Grizzlies lost in the play-in knockout series via the hands of Portland Trail Blazers last season in the Orlando Bio-Bubble. 

Morant played without his companion Jackson Jr., him playing alone was still superb. However, his problem has been his defensive game and his problem with turnovers. Some suggest Morant’s shooting from downtown still needs a little brush up. But Morant scoring in the paint is a different ball-game altogether. 

JA Morant wants to be on the same level as Kyrie Irving 

According to SB Nation’s Twitter account that covers the Grizzlies, “Ja Morant is here. He’s asked about studying Kyrie Irving and taking things from his game. Ja says Kyrie is a special and crafty player that uses a ton of moves to get the shots he wants. Morant wants to be on the same level as Irving as a finisher, not just as a dunker.”

Kyrie Irving has the ability to score points from angle that no one could even imagine. From dead ball plays to being the only man to battle against the large men, Irving knows all the ways to score. Irving is not the tallest, yet one of the most skilled. He has often ranked himself up as the top scorers of the league. As time passes by let’s hope JA Morant could also be on the same level as Brooklyn City’s new star Kyrie Irving.
