A small number of players have had a lasting influence on the sport, although many came and departed. That said, everything was fine until the Top 10 NBA players were revealed by Bleacher Report’s list of the Top 100 players. The NBA community went into a frenzy when they excluded the great late Kobe Bryant from the list of the top 10 NBA players, which is where things got interesting.
So much so that, not only NBA fans, but former and current NBA players also chimed in on this matter. Leaving a great like Bryant out of the top 10 NBA list would surely bring in controversy. And it did, with the current Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving being the most recent player to touch on this topic. He did not take it well. Irving made his opinions clear regarding the legacy of the Basketball icon on his latest live stream.
I’m not letting people come on and talk about Kobe like Kobe wasn’t one of the best that not only played, but came in as a 17-year-old against grown men. And by the time this man was 22 years old, he had a few championships, and he was busting the best of the best’s a**. Y’all knock that sh*t off.

Kyrie brushed off the lighthearted remarks made by media figures who make analogies without appreciating the significance of Kobe’s journey. Not everybody can be Kobe, he said straightforwardly. Not everyone can undertake that route or carry the load he did. There is a reason Kobe is known as the ‘Black Mamba,’ and Irving made it clear why.
It’s important to note that Kyrie Irving was not the only player who came in support of Bryant. The Lakers star’s former teammate, Shaquille O’Neal, also put forth his views on this situation, showcasing his support for Bryant’s legacy.
In addition to O’Neal, Irving’s current teammate and Mavs star, Klay Thompson, also took to his Instagram stories to defend Bryant and his legacy. This showcases the respect and admiration the late Laker star has to this date amongst the NBA community in general. From fans to players, he had an impact on literally everyone and inspired many in the game, current players and retired.
Klay Thompson made his feelings clear on Kobe Bryant’s omission from the Top 10 NBA players list
Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson is known for his quiet and introverted personality on and off the court, minding his own business. He only speaks his mind if something is bothering him. It’s safe to say that Kobe Bryant’s omission from the Bleacher Report’s Top 10 NBA list left Thompson infuriated as he took to his Instagram stories to support the late great.

WTF is wrong with y’all?

When it came to Bryant, the Mavericks did not choose to ignore the situation, despite his lack of social media engagement and presence. Bryant supporters could argue that he should have been ranked higher, but Bleacher Report disagreed. Thompson’s situation was made worse by the fact that Stephen Curry, his former teammate and Splash bro, was ranked #10 on the list.
Kyrie Irving makes an honest admission on the GOAT debate
When it comes to the GOAT debate of any given sport, fans are always ready to debate this topic at any given point. Everyone’s opinions differ when it comes to this particular debate. Many NBA players and fans have spoken and debated on this topic during the past and present. But Kyrie Irving has a different point of view when it comes to the GOAT debate. He recently opened up on this on his livestream, leaving everyone surprised.
Y’all are arguing over who’s the GOAT. I don’t fu*king care…Basketball is bigger than the GOAT.

Judging by the way Irving spoke, it is clear that he did that he does not care who the GOAT of the sport that he plays is. For the Mavericks’ star, nobody is greater than basketball. This does make sense as everybody is playing the same sport and has to be considered as equal. Although one may be better than the other in the sport, Irving still feels that nobody is greater than basketball.
