The Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is out there talking to his fans with all of his heart during his recent marathon livestreaming, while other NBA stars enjoy some quality time with their families and loved ones. Both on and off the court, Irving is renowned for his humorous demeanor. Furthermore, he doesn’t hesitate to express his opinions.

It’s fair to say that his most recent opinion was quite an interesting one. Irving went back in time. To be precise, he went in 2011 regarding his recent opinion. The NBA star claimed that he wants to do a stream with all the 2011 top 5 picks. But with a twist. The twist here is that he doesn’t want to just do the top 5 picks with only the NBA. He wants to do it all with the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL.

This is to reflect on where those players are now compared to the rank potential they had at the start of their careers. Interesting, isn’t it? The fans from all the mentioned sporting communities chimed in on this matter, calling Irving’s idea ‘cool but hard to pull off.’ That said, the fans are right here, as it won’t be easy to pull this off.

But if anyone can manage to bring such an idea to fruition, it’s none other than Irving itself. Aside from this, Irving spoke on many matters on his Twitch live stream. From his failed stint at the Brooklyn Nets to calling out haters who tried to tarnish the late great Kobe Bryant’s legacy, the Mavs star was fired up during his marathon livestreaming.

So much so that he also opened up on matters which were meant to be discreet. It remains to be seen what the next idea the Mavs star pitches in on his live streams as he recovers from his ACL injury he suffered last season.

Kyrie Irving blasted haters for tarnishing Kobe Bryant’s legacy

For quite some time now, the late Kobe Bryant has been receiving immense criticism over his legacy, with many raising questions over does he deserves a position amongst the greatest of the sport. From fans to former NBA players, everyone is targeting Bryant over this. One thing was sure, support was surely going to arrive, and it arrived in some style, from Klay Thompson, Shaquille O’Neal, to Kyrie Irving being the most recent player in support for Bryant.

The Mavs star lashed out at the haters for tarnishing Bryant’s legacy on his livestream recently.

I’m not letting people come on and talk about Kobe like Kobe wasn’t one of the best that not only played, but came in as a 17-year-old against grown men. And by the time this man was 22 years old, he had a few championships, and he was busting the best of the best’s a**. Y’all knock that sh*t off.

Kyrie dismissed the trivial comments made by media personalities who draw comparisons without understanding the importance of Kobe’s journey. “Not everyone can be Kobe,” he stated plainly. Not everyone is capable of traveling that path or bearing the weight he did. Irving made it apparent why Kobe is referred to as the “Black Mamba.”

Kyrie Irving told the Nets to ‘release’ up following the COVID-19 vaccine drama

As much as Kyrie Irving is known for his humble nature, he is equally stubborn as well. This stubbornness was on full display back during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Irving was at the Brooklyn Nets. Initially, he refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine, resulting in much controversy around him. This also led to his suspension, which left the star furious.

Now, years later, Irving revealed what he told the Nets’ management during his Twitch live stream.

I’m like, okay, look, that’s fine, but just leave me the (expletive) out of this and let me go somewhere. I even told the Nets to release me. I said, ‘yo, can you please just release me?’ And, obviously, the money situation — different situation, I’m (expletive) Kyrie. I say that very aware of my position, but they weren’t just going to let me rock out.

Despite all this, his performances did not drop, showcasing immense talent and skill in Brooklyn during his time there. He averaged 27.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game, shooting 48.9% from the field, 39.6% from three-point range, and 90.9% from the free-throw line. Given that, Irving is at peace now, at the Dallas Mavericks, ever since he signed for them back in 2023.
