With the way they played in games 1 to 3, everyone expected the Dallas Mavericks to win Game 4 and punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. So did everyone who is associated with the franchise.

Their belief was so much that Kyrie Irving suggested that Game 4 would be a win-or-go-home kind of game for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He touched upon the same during the practice session.

Now in retrospect, that comment has aged poorly. The Minnesota Timberwolves won game 4 to extend the Western Conference Finals. It also suggests that probably he and his teammates should have taken the game seriously.

As had they done it, they would have not only confirmed their birth in the NBA Finals. But also received time to rest their tired bodies. Instead, now they not only have to go through at least another practice and game situation. But also, the jet lag that will come about from travelling to and from Minneapolis.

If Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks are serious about winning the NBA title, they will have to finish the deal by winning Game 5. For that to happen, Irving has to lead the charge by shooting much better than what he did today. His leadership on the court will inspire his teammates to do better. Only then can they win the Western Conference Finals as the momentum has now swung to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kyrie Irving and his teammates need to rest. Else they cannot take on the Boston Celtics who are already at least 3 days ahead of them in terms of rest and preparation.
