Angel Reese met Kyrie Irving and his daughter Azurie Irving at the WNBA game today

When Angel Reese decided to enter the WNBA draft this season, little did she know of the impact her mere presence would bring. Add to that, the Chicago Sky rookie’s double-doubles have added to that excitement. That has brought out a lot of celebrities to her games as well. Today Kyrie Irving and his daughter Azurie Irving made it to Los Angeles to watch Reese play the Sparks.

The two Irvings sat courtside as Reese and her teammates slowly and steadily edged the game in their favor. After the game finished, the Dallas Mavericks superstar took his daughter toward the tunnels leading to the locker room. There, as they waited for Sky players to come through, Reese came in. When she spotted Azurie Irving, Reese came in with her arms wide open and hugged her. After this, she hugged Kyrie Irving and then again was seen talking to his daughter.

After she went away, other Sky players coming through also exchanged pleasantries with the father-daughter duo. It seems, Azurie Irving wanted to meet Angel Reese up close which is probably why her father arranged a meet-up in the tunnel.

Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso post double-doubles to beat Sparx

In their first game back from the Olympics break, the Chicago Sky were dealt a 20-point loss at the hands of one of the best teams in the WNBA. But today, they decided to go back to their winning ways. To do that, they needed Angel Reese in her best form. Which she did when she posted another double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

But Reese had help in the form of her fellow rookie Kamilla Cardoso. The Brazilian center hadn’t had a big game so far. But tonight, she dominated the interior. Notching 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks, which proved crucial to tackle the faster-playing Los Angeles Sparks.

With this win, they keep their playoff hopes alive. They have one of the toughest closing schedules in the WNBA with nine of their fourteen games against playoff contenders. But if they can continue dominating the interior the way they did today, they should be able to hold their ground.
