LA Knight was recently announced to be a part of the King of the Ring tournament. His first-round opponent was announced as Santos Escobar, and the two even had a promo on SmackDown the week before their scheduled match. However, WWE later announced that the match would no longer be on a televised program but rather at a house show. This enraged the 41-year-old’s fans, who claimed that he should have performed in a televised match.
LA Knight recently responded to these fan criticisms with a post on X. The formerly known Eli Drake appreciated those who said that his match must be on TV. However, there was no need to throw house show audiences under the bus. The WWE roster has as much fun as possible at such events.

Hence, alongside having a great match, a match with huge stakes makes these live events much more fun. This message came as a response to a fan who congratulated the SmackDown superstar on his King of the Ring victory. However, he felt it was insulting to the superstar that he was delegated to a live event rather than performing on TV.
I appreciate everyone saying this match should’ve been on TV. But, no need to throw live event crowds under the bus.LA Knight on X
His match against Santos Escobar later took place at a house show in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Although there is no official footage of the match released by WWE, some netizens have uploaded their own footage online. After a hard-hitting affair, the megastar landed a leaping elbow drop on his opponent. This was followed by a BFT to put away his opponent and advance to the next round of the tournament.
LA Knight shares details about his bloody and unscripted fight with AJ Styles
In an interview on the KiddChris Show, LA Knight opened up about his unscripted fight with AJ Styles. Before their match at WrestleMania XL, the two superstars made an appearance at the WrestleMania press conference. The two got into an altercation, which resulted in the Phenomenal One being left with a bloody nose.

While the fight was not planned, Knight considered it inevitable after WWE sat them together so close to each other. He added that their seats were within five feet of each other. During the press conference, the former Impact World Champion kept thinking to himself that he would have to fight his rival at some point.
At one point, the former WWE Champion threw a stool in his direction. This led to Knight thinking that he had to take on his opponent. He added that things eventually blew up, and AJ Styles slammed him down. By the time the brawl ended, the Georgia Pitbull was left with a bloody nose.
