WrestleMania 42 is just over six weeks away, and the majority of the card is up in the air. LA Knight, who’s been one of the most popular acts across WWE for the past 2-3 years, finds himself in the middle of nowhere as far as his WrestleMania plans are concerned. ‘The Megastar’ was asked about what he’s going to do at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ this year.

In a chat with The Coach’s Corner, the 43-year-old affirmed that he doesn’t have any details on that front. Knight emphasized that even though it still catches the fans off guard, that’s how things work in this business. Recalling his early days as a wrestler, the Maryland native revealed that he was supposed to put on matches with the people he hadn’t met before.

Don’t worry about the details because I don’t have any. I know about as much as you know. People find that hard to believe, but in all honesty, that’s just wrestling. When I came up in wrestling, I’d say most of the times I was going to a show, I’d never even met my opponent before…….I don’t know a lot. I’d like to know more……….

Knight would meet who he’s working with on a given night just a couple of hours before the show, and they were asked to work things out in such a short amount of time.

Circling back to his status for WrestleMania in Las Vegas, ‘The Unchosen One’ stated that he’d like to know more before putting it out. Apart from that, the former United States Champion stressed that the WrestleMania weekend in Sin City is going to be a gigantic success.

As of late January, the erstwhile Eli Drake was internally slated to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. In fact, Knight was partly responsible for Lesnar’s elimination from the Royal Rumble match, with Cody Rhodes working in tandem with LA Knight to get rid of ‘The Beast’. There’s no word on if it’s still the plan.

Meanwhile, Lesnar has already issued an open challenge for WrestleMania, which could very well see getting answered by Oba Femi, as WWE is aware of the hype surrounding it.

Knight may still end up in the crosshairs of Lesnar, given that he drove a bloodied Paul Heyman away from the arena in an ambulance. ‘The Oracle’ would be left with no choice but to convince his client to take care of ‘The Megastar’ if that’s how WWE wants to set up a WrestleMania match between Lesnar and Knight.

WrestleMania 42 could feature more matches than last year’s edition

One of the biggest pet peeves of the fans about the Triple H era of WWE has been the management’s reluctance to put more matches on PLEs, with a 4-5 match card becoming a norm under the current regime.

But it’s expected to break the shackles for the biggest wrestling event of the year. As per a report from BodySlam, the upcoming wrestling spectacle in Vegas is expected to feature at least 14 matches across both nights, which was the case in 2025 as well.

However, it could go up to 16 matches this year with the early start time of 6E/3P. The official matches made so far include CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, which is being billed as one of the greatest main events in WrestleMania history. The other men’s world title match has yet to be finalized, with heavy chances of Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes after the recent shakeup of plans.

On the women’s side of things, Stephanie Vaquer will defend her women’s world title against Liv Morgan, and Jade Cargill will face a stern test against Rhea Ripley, who would be gunning to take the WWE women’s title off of Cargill. WrestleVotes Radio noted that WrestleMania 42 could see six women’s matches on the card, with five of them firmly on tap.

Apart from the title defenses of Vaquer and Cargill against Morgan and Ripley, respectively, the women’s tag team titles, the women’s US title, and the women’s Intercontinental title are the ones to be taken care of. The men’s mid-card has a major chance to produce sleeper matches at WrestleMania.

Penta, the brand-new Intercontinental Champion, will march into Vegas with gold on his shoulders. It’d be interesting to see whom he ends up defending his title against. It could be Je’Von Evans, as he made his intentions clear about chasing the IC title on this week’s Raw.

US Champion Carmelo Hayes is also someone to keep an eye on in the coming weeks on SmackDown as to how his challengers will present themselves as threats. Seth Rollins is certain to be involved in a match combination with The Vision after he cracked a chair across Paul Heyman’s back on Raw.
