La Liga 2020/2021: FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid pulled off a stunning 3-1 victory over Barcelona in the El Classico at Camp Nou. Moreover, this victory will be a huge relief for Zidane and Madrid as they had lost two matches consecutively. In one of the most entertaining Classico of recent times Valverde, Ramos and Modric got the goals for Madrid. However, Barca did put up a good performance and got a goal through Fati but lost the game through thin margins.

FIRST HALF

Real Madrid started the game strongly and got the opening goal within five minutes. Valverde got the goal with Benzema threading a superb pass past the Barca defense. However, Barca didn’t take long to get the equalizer with Fati getting the goal through a Jordi Alba cross. Furthermore, Barca and Madrid continued to create chances in a hugely entertaining game but both goalkeepers stood tall to prevent any further goal.

SECOND HALF

Barcelona started the second half in bright fashion with Fati going close to scoring in the 52nd minute. However, Real Madrid got the goal against the run of play as Lenglet tugged the shirt of Ramos to concede the Penalty. Ramos took the ball and slotted the penalty calmly to put Real Madrid in front. Barcelona tried their best to get the equalizer but Real Madrid killed the game with Modric scoring the third goal from a error by Neto.

Zidane will be hugely relieved after this victory as Real Madrid had lost two consecutive matches against Cadiz and Shakthar. Ramos proved to be the game changer for Madrid just as Koeman had predicted before the match. Furthermore, this win propelled Madrid to top of the table while Barcelona slipped to a lowly 12th position.
