Caitlin Clark has yet to make an appearance in public after she exited the Phoenix Mercury game when she aggravated her back injury.

During that time, the world of women’s basketball seemed to have been turned upside down. It is not as if she is oblivious to it, but since the guard has not had to speak with reporters, she can stay away from speaking about anything until she has to.

Even though the events trace back to the altercation between Clark and Mercury forward and former teammate DeWanna Bonner in the first of those two clashes, it is the second one that has everyone talking.

That game still lives in everyone’s memory, not because of its close battles, but because of what Alyssa Thomas did. The Mercury playmaker landed her fist to Clark’s throat, and clips and pictures from that blew up the internet.

The W, at this junction in time, would be better without Caitlin Clark, because she is a bigger distraction than she is an additive… Caitlin got the necessary eyes there. But now that the eyes are there, we don’t necessarily need her anymore.

Emmanuel Acho said on Speakeasy

This was the former NFL star’s opinion, as he felt that the point guard had done her job of promoting the game. Now, all these incidents attached to her were drawing the wrong crowd, and thus, were a distraction to the league.

Fans tear into Emmanuel Acho for senseless Caitlin Clark take

Emmanuel Acho might have been saying out of frustration. There is no doubt that Caitlin Clark is the reason the league has managed to garner millions of new fans.

But at the same time, he believes that those new fans are also capable of causing chaos, as is the case currently. However, fans wondered how he decided to level the blame on the Indiana Fever superstar, instead of fixing the problem that is openly evident.

They felt that he was riding the boat that everyone else is in the WNBA, and that is to blame the point guard, even though she is not the one at fault here. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Clark might not even react to anything Emmanuel Acho says, or even acknowledge him. She has widely stated several times that opinions such as these are not to be paid attention to.

However, fans felt they needed to defend the WNBA’s golden goose and not allow people like Acho or others to smear the two-time All-Star‘s name.

If she’s silent, it’s her decision to do so. It will be read as such. I don’t think she has to, but the choice to be silent is also an action, and that will be judged.

Ros Gold-Onwude said on Just Women’s Sports

Gold-Onwude’s sarcastic suggestion was as if Clark staying quiet said a lot about how she feels about her peers getting bullied and facing death threats.

As soon as she said this, fans and even journalists from other networks slapped a community note with a link to how the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader denounced the actions of fans during her rookie season.
