LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers get eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the 1st round of the playoffs with this Game 5 loss

The reality of their season has just hit LeBron James. His Los Angeles Lakers were good, but not as good as the defending champion Denver Nuggets. Even though the superstar and his teammates put up a valiant effort, the most storied franchise in the NBA is out of the playoffs in the 1st round.

LeBron James and his teammates went into Game 5 hoping to take the best of their Game 4 performance to Denver. The all-time leading scorer and his starters did provide enough production to stay close in the entire game. If only the Los Angeles Lakers could have capitalized on the few misses from the defending champions, they could have extended their season. Only for the Denver Nuggets to snatch the game away in the last few seconds.

The defending champions had to just keep the score level. Then they handed the ball over to their superstar guard, Jamal Murray, in the final seconds. He rewarded them for that faith as he again pulled up and scored the game winner.

This brings the curtains down on a season where the men in purple and gold squandered chance after chance to climb up the playoff table and avoid their kryptonite team. Now they head into the offseason with questions surrounding their leader’s future.

Fans left stunned as LeBron James exits the playoffs in the 1st round

For the biggest superstar in the NBA, exiting in the 1st round is not the best mark of his illustrious career. In fact, only once before has James been eliminated this early in his career. The 39-year-old has a lot to think about as how he wants to wind down his time on the court. However, fans could not help themselves from talking about the situation.
