The current Los Angeles Lakers team has gone beyond all expectations to make a mockery of their franchise in the 2021-22 season. Having lost 13 of their last 17 games, the purple and gold have endured 3 consecutive losses, approaching play-in tournament. As a result of which Russell Westbrook has been among the most criticized stars from the roster. And after the on-road loss against Mavericks, Brodie seemed to have got into a heated exchange with LA Times reporter Brad Turner.

With the Lakers losing 110-128 against the Dallas Mavericks, without marquee players LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Westbrook led the team. But ever since the first quarter, the Lakers seemed to be off no match to Mavericks, who thumped the away team with 82 points in the first half. Safe to say, the misery surely seems to be taking a toll at all players, most at Westbrook.

Now talking about the particular incident, the tense exchange all went down in the press conference area following Lakers’ 128-110 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, when LA Times reporter Brad Turner asked Russ, “What changes going forward?”

After which, Brodie immediately bristled, saying, “Nothing, man, nothing” before he eventually turned the question on the reporter.

“What do you think should change?” Westbrook asked Turner.

When Turner responded, “Winning,” the former MVP got up from his chair and confronted the reporter off the podium. The two spoken off personnel then went back and forth for several seconds before Russ finally diffused the situation by asking other reporters if they filmed the entire interaction. Eventually both shook hands, before Russ made his way back to the locker room

This interaction has only gone onto showcase and highlight the misery faced by Russell Westbrook ever since he started playing for the purple and gold army in Hollywood. Given that the Lakers are 11th in the West Conference, Brodie’s painful fan abuse could surely increase if the Lakers miss out on a play-in tournament berth entirely.
