Lakers using Bronny James to simulate Anthony Edwards during practices ahead of playoffs has fans losing it: “They are cooked.”
Los Angeles Lakers are using Bronny James on the scout team to understand how to deal with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

Bronny James emulating Anthony Edwards in Lakers practice
The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs. This means LeBron James, Luka Doncic and their teammates will have to find ways to contain Anthony Edwards and the Wolves.
It will not be an easy task as both James and Doncic know all too well how dangerous the 23-year-old Wolves superstar is. His movement is difficult to gauge, and along with his exploits from deep, pose a major problem for any squad.
Luka Doncic embarrassed Edwards and the Wolves last season. But a major part of that was fatigue after the Timberwolves experienced their first run that deep into the postseason. The Mavericks already have experience after going on playoff runs in the past.
This time, it is the first round. Which means Anthony Edwards will be coming off the same six days of rest as the Los Angeles Lakers. With that in mind, the purple and gold franchise decided to deploy a couple of players to simulate the Adidas signature athlete.
JJ Redick said the Lakers used Shake Milton and Bronny James as Anthony Edwards on their scout team today. The Wolves have been using Joe Ingles as Luka Doncic in their scouting groups.

The Wolves have been using Joe Ingles as Luka Doncic in their scouting groups.
The Athletic’s lead journalist covering the Lakers heard this straight from head coach JJ Redick. Considering both Shake Milton and Bronny James are comparable in height and build to the Wolves star, they used them on the scout team.
Fans lose their minds after learning Bronny James is impersonating Anthony Edwards
Shake Milton has been in the league for a while. But Bronny James is a rookie and is yet to find his way to play consistent rotational minutes. That is where fans found it absurd that the Los Angeles Lakers asked the rookie to impersonate Anthony Edwards.
They believe that is a job an experienced veteran would do, after having observed or battled against the player in question. Fans do not believe this is the best way to approach the problem. They took to social media to talk about this development. Examples of those comments are below.
they are cooked

would’ve been better off just putting two garbage cans out on the court

Bronny needs to get in character and have kids with multiple women within the next 2 weeks

The only thing Bronny and Edwards have in common is they can’t pass out of a double team

Bronny James might end up doing a decent job trying to emulate Anthony Edwards. The Lakers are not looking for an exact representation. If the rookie can at least give them a small semblance of what they are to face, it could be enough.
Austin Reaves believes Lakers are ready for war
Whether Bronny James’ simulation of Anthony Edwards helps to prepare the Los Angeles Lakers or not, the men in purple and gold are preparing for a tough matchup. Reporters at their practice asked Austin Reaves how they would handle the size disadvantage as team.
You just got to play hard as s**t. There’s a difference in being ready to go to war by yourself and being ready to go to war as a team. We are locked in.
Austin Reaves said
The Lakers star believes the only chance they have against the Minnesota Timberwolves is if they battle as a team. Their opponents have a size advantage all across the board. Which means, they will have to fight harder to edge the Wolves out.

The Timberwolves also have the benefit of finding form late into the season. After struggling initially with their new lineup, they hit their stride and have found ways to defeat good to great teams. That could become the problem the Lakers have to deal with starting from Saturday, April 19th.
