LeBron James could be enticed to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers if they managed to draft his son Bronny James

Now with their season over, the Los Angeles Lakers have a massive headache to deal with. As their leader, LeBron James enters the off-season uncertain about his future with the team.

Stories from inside the camp have revealed a situation regarding his son Bronny James and the upcoming draft. Something that could help secure the services of their superstar.

If this happens, it will fulfill LeBron James’ longtime dream of playing alongside his son. This effectively signals that the all-time scoring leader could, in all probability, exercise his player option and stay with the team for at least another year.

There are two aspects to this news. LeBron James has suggested in the past that if he can play alongside his son, that would signal the end of his NBA career. However, if the Lakers can make the necessary moves and get quality players to come to their team, it could mean that the 39-year-old might rethink that earlier notion.

What better than to win his 5th championship alongside his son? That would be a feat that no one has ever done in any sport. Therefore, the Lakers will have to draw up a plan to build around their leader.

LeBron James, Bronny and the making of a Lakers championship team

To start with, the Lakers have to make a decision on their impending free agents. With that many number of guards sharing the ball, it will be hard to justify a place for Bronny James. Next up is the situation with big men.

They need solid reinforcements who can help Anthony Davis rest. Last but not least, rather the most important of all is to find a 3rd superstar.

With the slew of brilliant but aging superstars becoming free agents next year, the Lakers should have their options open. However, their salary cap situation might be a deterrent for a few of them. Then there is the problem of sharing the ball. Ball-dominant players have no place on this Los Angeles Lakers team.

Hence, the Lakers need to string together a solid off-season, where they address most of the problems that showed up this year. Then along with that 3rd star, LeBron James and his son could become the first father-son duo to win a title while playing together on the same team.
