Lamar Jackson has shocked the internet, yet again. However, this time it isn’t for his skills on the field. The 2-times MVP has ditched his braids for a new hairstyle that leaves him resonating with NBA star Jimmy Butler. The hairdo comes just days after the Baltimore Ravens quarterback slipped up on getting his 3rd MVP award.

Lamar Jackson surprised social media after revealing his new hairstyle that showcases flat long hair covering his face. The NFL star player has taken a huge leap from braids and occasional afros to the peculiar hairstyle.

His post featured him sitting at the salon with braids out and hair straightened to shoulder length. While the fans are unclear if it was the final product or if Jackson will develop something out of it. However, it did not stop them from bringing in their hilarious reactions.

A majority of the internet compared him to the Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler’s iconic hairstyle. The NBA athlete went viral for donning an emo look for Miami Heat media day back in 2023. While he is known for his jocund personality and antics on the court, Lamar Jackson surprised the majority of the viewers. Although he himself contributed to it as he implied a resemblance to rapper Snoop Dogg‘s 2001 movie ‘Bones’, as he captioned it.

The comparisons continued to pour in with viewers bringing in different matches. The NFL star player is likely getting back on his feet in the offseason after facing a heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC round. It did not stop as he also lost his 3rd MVP award to Bills’ QB Josh Allen. Being an illustrious athlete, Lamar Jackson is a strong contender to bring home the Super Bowl trophy for his team.

In an interview with Essence, Lamar Jackson shared his struggles with academics while managing football. The NFL star expressed his inability to play in 10th grade which led him to learn more about hard work. He further credited his mother for pushing him to become what he did.

Jackson asserted that people neglected the work he had put in himself before counting on his achievements. Despite the struggles, he managed to graduate from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Reportedly, he had also received a scholarship in the university.
