In Short
  • Puka Nacua faces a civil lawsuit from Madison Atiabi for allegedly biting her during a New Year's Eve incident.
  • A video shows Atiabi twerking near Nacua's head after the alleged biting occurred.
  • Nacua's attorney claims the lawsuit is an attempt at blackmail, while Atiabi's lawyer denies these allegations.

Intriguing new details have emerged about Puka Nacua’s alleged biting incident. TMZ obtained a video from the night the biting incident took place.

On New Year’s Eve, the Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver appeared to be passed out beside a couple of girls in a Sprinter van as Sexyy Red’s “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” blared on the sound system. One of the girls, wearing white attire, twerked right next to Nacua’s head while the other one enjoyed the performance.

According to reports, this happened right after Nacua bit the girl in white, later revealed to be Madison Atiabi. Here’s the video shared by TMZ.

Similar to many great receivers of the past, Nacua seems to attract trouble wherever he goes. The biting incident marks the latest addition to his list of mischief. However, unlike previous incidents, the 24-year-old now faces legal repercussions, as Atiabi has filed a civil lawsuit against him for biting her in the neck.

She has filed an application for a temporary restraining order against Nacua. Atiabi suffered physical injury, pain and suffering, and severe emotional distress as a result of her encounter with Nacua that night. In a moment of heightened emotions, Nacua reportedly bit her shoulder, resulting in a visible imprint of his teeth.

In the lawsuit, Atiabi not only complained about experiencing physical harm, but also claimed that Nacua made derogatory remarks against the Jewish community. She recalled Nacua making an antisemitic remark while they were at the Poppy, a well-known nightclub in downtown LA, before the biting incident occurred.

Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, denied everything and argued that Atiabi has filed a bogus lawsuit. McCarthern labeled the lawsuit as blackmail and a ploy to extract money from his client, who is on the cusp of a historic contract extension.

However, Joseph Kar, who is representing Atibi, pushed back against McCathern’s statement. In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Kar said:

There [isn’t] any truth to Mr. McCathern’s assertion that this is a ‘shakedown’ since it was his office and staff that invited us to the mediation, agreed to pay for half, and flew from Texas to attend on March 11, 2026.

Kar is hoping that civil and criminal matters will move forward without any more “interference” from Nacua’s side. It’s a delicate situation, and both sides might rather avoid letting it escalate. That said, it’s still not clear how much compensation Atiabi’s team is seeking if they win the lawsuit.

Nacua is not in a great position with this lawsuit hanging over his head. Previously, he was seen doing an anti-Semitic hand gesture while appearing on controversial streamer Adin Ross‘ channel.

When the smoke cleared, Nacua made an unsuccessful attempt to land a date with Sydney Sweeney. Later, he confessed that his timing was wrong.

My awareness skills were at 0 at that moment, [but] I don’t regret it at all. I’d still love to go skydiving.

It’s better for Nacua to focus on improving his skills as a football player. 2025 was arguably the best year of his NFL career. He finished second in the receiving charts with 1715 yards on 129 receptions. Only Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba produced better numbers and bagged the Offensive Player of the Year award.
