WATCH: “Old a* * ni**a!” LEAKED audio reveals Anthony Edwards trash talk to Kevin Durant
There was a back-and-forth between Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant during game 1 of their playoff clash.
The leaked audio revealed what Anthony Edwards told Kevin Durant
Anthony Edwards led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a comfortable 120-95 win over the visiting Phoenix Suns in game one of their playoff encounter. However, one central talking point of the game was the back-and-forth between Edwards and Kevin Durant when Ant-Man drilled a three-point shot over KD and taunted him afterwards.
Initial details of what he said while taunting the two-time NBA champion couldn’t be ascertained, but according to an X user, the Minnesota Timberwolves young guard had uttered an NSFW word. He allegedly told him that he couldn’t guard him.
You can't guard me, what the f**k did I tell you, old a** n**ga?The X user claimed
However, Kevin Durant took his comments with a pinch of salt as he was seen on camera smiling. It showed the level of maturity both players have for each other, as Edwards had earlier revealed his deep admiration for the former Golden State Warriors NBA champion.
Furthermore, both players had an impressive outing, recording 30+ points. However, there could be only one winner as the younger star prevailed.
Anthony Edwards calls his idol, Kevin Durant, the greatest
Anthony Edwards displayed humility in victory after conquering Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. During the post-game press conference, he paid his respect to the legend who, despite his best efforts of 31 points, couldn’t stop the Wolves from securing a first-leg advantage.
If I'm not mistaken, he made four or five straight buckets like it was nothing. And I became a fan at one point, like I was out there like, 'God damn, he nice.' I'm looking at the stat sheet; he's 11-17, he missed six shots and had 31. I mean, he's the greatest to ever do it, man.Anthony Edwards told the reporters
Furthermore, he went on to term his duel with KD as one of the best feelings ever as he grew up idolizing KD. Interestingly, both stars would come together as part of Team USA for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The contest isn’t over, as it is a series of four games, and as much as it was a great experience having one over his idol, more challenges lie ahead. In the past, the Suns have been the better team, so it would be wise for Anthony Edwards and his fellow T-Wolves to brace up for the long run.
