Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is not only a basketball legend but also a business mogul. One of his ventures is The SpringHill company, a production house James built with Maverick Carter in 2020. Since then, the company has seen new heights, along with cracking the latest deal with ‘The Kardashians’ producer Fulwell 73.
Fulwell 73, a UK-based company, was founded by Ben Winston, James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Ben Turner, and Gabe Turner in 2005. With the growing demands of the Entertainment Industry, the two have agreed upon a deal which is aimed to give both the global exposure. LeBron James posted the news on his Instagram Stories. Along with that, Carter also posted a video of the announcement. With the financial details undisclosed, the new name for the merger is yet to be announced.
The SpringHill majorly focuses on sports-based entertainment and documentaries. Growing a name for itself, the company sold a minority stake at a $725 million valuation to an investor group back in 2021. Since then, it has produced several hits like ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy‘, ‘Hustle‘, and ‘Shooting Star‘. Fulwell 73 has produced box office successes including but not limited to, ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden‘, and the ‘Grammy Awards’.
In an interview with Screen, Leo Pearlman revealed details of the merger with LeBron James. One of the key aspects, Pearlman revealed, was to sway the industry to benefit the companies. The offices will remain in London and Sunderland, as well as Los Angeles and New York, with the UK being the chief base.

Ahead of Monday’s official announcement, James’ company The SpringHill co-founder Maverick Carter gave some tidbits on the merger. Apparently, the merger was a perchance event, with the founders of the two companies meeting for wholly another reason.
Literally nothing to do with TV or entertainment.

As further revealed in the interview, the founders met for a sport-related meeting and talked about the future of the entertainment industry. The conversation took its turn to where SpringHill and Fulwell stood at the time. The parking lot conversation led to what now became a unification of the two.
The merger was in the talks for a year now, as Maverick Carter shared. Both companies are backed by Fenway Sports Group, RedBird Capital Partners, UC Investments, Nike, Epic Games, Main Street Advisors, and Eldridge Industries. Maverick Carter and Leo Pearlman will perform the role of CEOs in the new company.
