LeBron James and Dwyane Wade arranged SECRET meetings to finalize Heat Big 3
Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade opened up on the 'Big 3' and LeBron James on a recent episode of the OGs Show.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade
Back in 2010, the Miami Heat shook the NBA world as they announced the then-two-time MVP signing of LeBron James. He would partner with their franchise star, Dwyane Wade, and then the Heat topped it off by signing star defender Chris Bosch. Recently, Wade shared an interesting story of how the three stars united in Miami.
James and Bosch joined the Heat during the 2010 NBA Free Agency. By that time, Wade had already won an NBA title with the Heat. He was on the verge of leaving the franchise for his hometown side, the Chicago Bulls.
However, as per Wade, a ‘phone call’ from James changed everything, as the three stars ‘planned’ their next side, which led to the formation of the Big 3.
"We had already knew the other player if it was three… His name was Christopher Bosh… We had a secret meeting… It was a secret location."

The trio went on to win multiple titles together, creating a legacy of their own for the Miami Heat and the NBA. Later on, LeBron James left the franchise for the Cleveland Cavaliers and won an NBA title for them too. The Big 3 will always be talked about for years to come in the NBA, given the impact the three stars had on the league back then.
The Big 3 brought a ‘winning culture’ to the Miami Heat
LeBron James made one of his most significant career decisions in 2010 when he chose to sign with the Heat. James formed a super squad in Miami with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. With two titles and four consecutive visits to the finals, the team brought a winning era to Miami. However, their first year playing together wasn’t that great.
The media initially chastised the Heat for their sluggish start. But as they settled into a groove, the team was unstoppable and dominated both the regular season and the postseason. The Heat silenced their critics by coming back strong after suffering an ugly defeat to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA finals. The Heat prevailed and won two titles in the ensuing finals against the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
During the Heat’s Big 3 era, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade both had important roles to play and actively helped the team out when things got rough. Even though James was given more playing time, Wade was still one of the team’s star players and source of critical baskets.
Wade and James will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest duos in NBA history. There was no denying their contributions to the Heat’s success.
