Over the past year, LeBron James has seemingly moved away from his close friendship with rapper Drake. Now instead, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar vibes to songs from the Canadian rapper’s rival, Kendrick Lamar.

The 40-year-old superstar has been to Kendrick Lamar’s concerts. It was a stark contrast to when he was once on stage with Drake when their friendship was rock solid. Now James not only openly appreciates the Los Angeles rapper’s music but also shouts out other musicians who are not associated with Drake.

Once Drake understood well and clear which side his former friend was, he started showing his anger towards it. He unfollowed James from social media platforms. Then he started leaking some unreleased music where he apparently talks about the Lakers superstar’s infidelity.

Streamer Kai Cenat confronted DJ Akademiks, the originator of the James infidelity accusations. From that confrontation it became apparent that Drake had given him false information, which ended up causing a lot of damage to James’ credibility.

However, that did not stop Drake from showing his love towards those NBA superstars who have been loyal to him. He appreciates them as both basketball players and human beings, unlike LeBron James, who he now berates. One such berating message from his DMs with the GrandWizardChatNigg page leaked online.

Drake’s diss has fans losing it on social media

Ever since LeBron James has switched sides, fans have been waiting to see how Drake responds to the apparent betrayal. The rapper tried to cause some damage legally both to those associated with James as well as Kendrick Lamar.

But this leaked DM seemed to some as if the Canadian native was showing a mix of anger as well as envy. Fans took to social media to talk about it. Examples of those comments are below.

Fans understand that the entire situation has hurt Drake. But over the course of a year, the narrative surrounding him has been turning for the worse. He still draws packed crowds at concerts and has a loyal fan following. But those neutral to the situation are enjoying the discourse.

With him already facing enough criticism from fans, right-wing fanatics and some members of the media, any addition to this rap beef will only draw more attention. He focuses on the final few years of his already stellar NBA career.

At the same time, he is also focused on his son, Bronny James‘ time with the Lakers. He recently confronted ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith about comments concerning his son. That confrontation became the talk of the town and Smith spoke it about on several occasions. James does not need any more negativity.
