- LeBron James expressed frustration over inconsistent officiating in the NBA.
- He highlighted a specific incident involving Jaylen Brown and inconsistent foul calls.
- James noted the surprising absence of the NBA's sky camera since its use in a postseason game.
Playing longer than anyone and at an exceptionally high level would usually lead someone like LeBron James to possess unprecedented power over the league.
After all, the Akron native has been dribbling the ball for 23 straight seasons, and has his name on the top of, or near the top of, a lot of the columns in the NBA’s statistics page.
Even without considering his championships, MVP awards, and other accolades, those statistical achievements are enough for James to influence anyone and everyone across the league. However, that has not been the case lately.
The inconsistency, like, they pick and choose… They don’t know. The extended arm on the drive is so inconsistent, depending on who you are.
LeBron James said
The four-time champion then explained to his Mind the Game podcast co-host Steve Nash how another player, Jaylen Brown, in this instance, was let off three times for the same violation during their blowout win against the Lakers.

But later in that game, honoring Pat Riley, Brown was called for a foul for the same action. LeBron James pointed out how that has become a source of frustration for him.
The 41-year-old has, in the past, been criticized for his arguments with officials during a game. But it seems all he was trying to do was to get them to call fouls that had been previously called.
James has also seen how some calls go uncalled, and now, he has given up arguing every now and then. Instead, his teammate Luka Doncic seems to have taken up the task of complaining to officials.
LeBron James trolls the NBA’s sky camera
LeBron James is not the first to call out the inconsistencies in the way the game is officiated nowadays. It seems he has resigned to the fact that players can only point out mistakes to a certain degree.

However, the King was surprised last season when the NBA’s sky camera was used to determine a game-changing call during their first-round exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
They bought a camera out last year in the postseason. I have not seen that camera since.
LeBron James said
He and guest Austin Reaves were laughing about how they were surprised by the use of that camera at the time. However, what has surprised James more is that the camera has not been used since.
.@KingJames really spoke this camera angle back into existence 🤣

Even Steve Nash joked that the camera may have been lent to the NBA by the government, which is probably why it has not been seen again in the league.
Of late, LeBron James has been struggling with inconsistent foul calls. Maybe that explains why he has been talking about the officiating in a light-hearted manner.
LeBron James jokes about having trouble with his community
On this episode of the Mind the Game podcast, LeBron James brought along Los Angeles Lakers teammate Austin Reaves. At the end of the episode, Steve Nash remarked that this was another one with a ‘white boy.’
Oh my God… I don’t know, man. My community may give up on me if I bring one more white boy in. We’ve got to get Luke Kornet next, talk about Magic City.
LeBron James said
The league’s all-time leading scorer was joking about how, with Reaves, they have brought on a lot of white people on the show, something that might not sit right with James’ black community.

After that, the father of three added that they should next get San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet to come on their show. His comments about Magic City would seal the deal regarding James’ relationship with his community.
