LeBron James is thrilled about the possibility of playing with his son Bronny on the Los Angeles Lakers. The team drafted Bronny in the second round of the NBA draft last month, making them the first father-son duo to play on the same team in NBA history.

King James in an exclusive interview on Today with Craig Melvin emphasized that Bronny won’t receive any special treatment and will be held to the same standards as his other teammates. He wants Bronny to develop as a player and will push him to be his best.

The father-son duo might certainly face scrutiny from the media and fans, but the four-time NBA champion is ecstatic about this milestone in his career. He considers playing with Bronny the greatest accomplishment in his basketball career, surpassing his individual achievements.

Bronny was drafted 55th overall in the second round, and LeBron James recently signed an extension with the Lakers. He is currently training with the US men’s Olympic basketball team in Las Vegas, while Bronny may soon join him on the court, fulfilling James’ long-held dream of playing with his son.

Bronny James struggles with shooting in Summer League, but shows promise on defense 

Bronny James had a disappointing game in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday, scoring eight points on 3/14 shooting and struggling from the three-point range. However, he acknowledged that he’s in a slump, but he’s contributing in other ways, including rebounding and defense.

Despite his shooting woes, James is showing promise on defense, with four steals and three blocks in three games. His shooting struggles are not surprising, as his jumper was identified as an area for improvement in his scouting report. 

Summer league is an opportunity for James to work on his game and develop his skills. While he may not fix all his issues in two weeks, he can show the Lakers encouraging signs heading into training camp.
