Kevin Hart‘s love for football is known to every fan of the comedian or the sport. However, the actor swears he also played for the win back in the day. In a recent appearance, he recalled an incident that left NBA star LeBron James gasping for air while laughing.

Kevin Hart had a football career with winning potential that he chose to leave behind, or so he says. The comedian joined The Shop to share about his potential career at the level of former running back Barry Sanders.

He claimed to have played running back at Zion Baptist Church’s “amazing football team” while he worked as an usher. Unfortunately, they lost the semi-finals to “Katherine Baptist” despite their efforts in dress shoes.

As touching as Hart’s story may be, the entire room was in splits, especially NBA star LeBron James. The MVP and friend of the comedian couldn’t contain his laughter while he tried playing along with the scheme.

I played running back, everybody knows this, from my church, we had a church Zion Baptist Church, amazing football team we had too. A lot of different ages, I played running back for them for I think through my whole Usher tenure.

Kevin Hart joked

While Kevin Hart swore to “pull up the footage,” he shared a real story about his connection to football. As it turned out, he had an actual football career in high school, though short-lived. Contrasting to his skilled brother, a 5’4 quarterback at University City, Hart was far from an athlete. Nonetheless, everybody assumed he had the same talents and gave him a position on the team based on his brother’s reputation.

The expectations were soon crushed as he, the punt/kickoff returner and slot back, bolted leaving the ball in the air as the rival team approached him. Unsurprisingly, it was Kevin Hart’s first and last football game. However, it wasn’t his last time attending a football game. The comedian is known to be a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He finds every way to support the team, from attending clashes to talking about it online.

Kevin Hart shares story of his ‘million dollar’ pet eagles named after NFL athletes

If Kevin Hart’s loyalty toward the Philadelphia Eagles were to be questioned, the comedian has his pet Eagles. The “Act Your Age” headliner found the best way to express his love for the team was to buy their namesake symbolic bird. As a fervent fan of his hometown team, Hart made this move in the span of two Super Bowls the team had been to. To add to that, he named them star Eagles players Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.

On a recent episode of ‘Hot Ones’, Kevin Hart shed some light on spending millions of dollars on the Eagles, which he thought was well-spent. The comedian claimed that his pets loved him, also having lifted him once. That said, he confessed to being an “Eagle lover” both in real life and in the game.

The acquiring of the pets was a way for the actor to show love to his beloved athletes and team by extension. He reinstated his motive with the eagles was to tell everybody he was willing to live with them daily. Notably, Hart bought the eagles worth 12 million and 16.3 million respectively.
