It has been quite a while since LeBron James and Drake had a fallout after the Lakers superstar sided with Los Angeles-based rapper Kendrick Lamar in his beef with the Canadian musician.

All throughout this time, fans were furious as the all-time leading scorer in NBA history seemingly started to vibe and mouth the lyrics to Lamar’s diss tracks that were squarely aimed at the Canadian rapper.

Even his wife, Savannah James, joined in despite the family’s long-standing relationship with the Canadian artist, where he would bring up her husband and son on stage during his concerts.

The Lakers’ star has generally stayed quiet about this entire situation, choosing to avoid questions from the media while continuing to vibe to Lamar’s tracks.

The situation became even more apparent when Stephen Curry, who is close to Drake, called out the constant renditions of ‘They not like Us’ at basketball games, but James showed his preference for the song.

Even Kendrick Lamar’s cousin and former Lakers’ star, Nick Young, was not happy with the switch in loyalty LeBron James displayed. Now, after all this time, when asked by Speedy Morman on his podcast, if the 4-time champion still had love for his former friend.

Always, always. Always wish him the best. Obviously, different places right now, currently. He’s doing his thing. I’m doing mine. But it’s always love for sure.

LeBron James replied

This answer seems to suggest that the 40-year-old superstar does not have any ill feelings towards the Grammy Award-winning Canadian. That is despite the rapper replacing LeBron James’ tattoo with that of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as a way to display his feelings about someone he once called his ‘brother.’

Fans fume at LeBron James for trying to settle his beef with Drake

LeBron James might have tried to calm the seas by claiming that he still has ‘love’ for Drake. However, fans, who have been keeping an eye on everything that has transpired, are not sure his claim was genuine.

They believe this seemed as if the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was trying to ensure his former friend did not go on a tirade and start leaking James’ secrets.

The last time the Canadian tried to do something on those lines, it ended up biting him badly, after streamer Kai Cenat confronted DJ Akademiks, who initially leaked those rumors.

Fans feel James is being clever and has already displayed his true feelings over the past year and a half when he was vibing to Kendrick Lamar’s songs. Check out examples of those reactions below.

It is unclear how Drake will respond to this latest reiteration of ‘love’ from the Lakers star. Whatever path he chooses will define how their so-called friendship transitions into possibly what could be the NBA superstar’s last year in the league.

LeBron James admits he does not know lyrics to today’s rap songs

LeBron James was born in 1984. Therefore, it is natural that he would be exposed to the rap and hip hop culture of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. That is unlike his sons, who are more accustomed to current-generation rap.

That’s just the new songs. The new rappers, I hear the melody, I hear the rap, sometimes they lose me, but then I can get it back. Guarantee if you take me to the 90s or early 2000s, I can rap a whole song of an artist for sure, front to back, no question about it.

LeBron James said

This was the 4-time league MVP‘s response when Speedy Morman stated that he felt James evidently could not get the lyrics right, especially of current generation rap songs. But if it were from the generation when he was growing up, he was sure he would know all the lyrics.
