Unlike LeBron James, Ron Harper said at the All-Star weekend that he does not instruct his sons about their basketball careers.

- LeBron James responded to Ron Harper's mockery by praising Harper's son, Dylan, while criticizing Ron.
- Ron Harper expressed no disrespect towards LeBron and emphasized their shared Ohio roots.
- LeBron James is not planning a farewell tour and may retire on his own terms, contrary to public speculation.
There is no doubt that having LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers paved the way for the franchise to select his son, Bronny James, with the 55th pick in the 2024 draft.
After all, the USC star was coming off what many would label as a bad year in college, something that would not even get another athlete into the G-League.
But then, he has slowly found his place after signing a guaranteed contract. Again, that is something that second-round rookies do not generally get.
As the Lakers head into the postseason with an injury crisis on their hands, it is up to LeBron James to lead them. Along with him would be his son, as those injuries have allowed the sophomore to prove his defense and offense can become contributing factors.
‘The King’ was speaking with his Mind the Game co-host about their Western Conference opponents when they began discussing the San Antonio Spurs.
Dylan’s great. I mean, his Daddy ain’t, but he’s good. I’ll see him when I see him.
LeBron James said
LeBron James first praised Spurs’ rookie Dylan Harper, and then turned to take shots at his father, Ron Harper. That is because the latter had dissed the Lakers’ superstar and his son, Bronny James, at the All-Star weekend.

“Dylan is great. I mean, his Daddy ain’t sh*t, but he’s good. I’ll see him when I see him.”

At the time, Harper took shots at the Lakers’ father-and-son duo, suggesting that, unlike them, he does not have to always instruct his sons about what they should do in their basketball careers. This was the league’s all-time leading scorers’ clap back.
Ron Harper responds to LeBron James
Over the past calendar year, LeBron James has started to call out his critics publicly and does not seem to be stopping anytime soon. That is why this video of him trolling Ron Harper quickly went viral, enough for the former Chicago Bulls star to notice it.
I love it.

This was the 62-year-old’s initial reaction to the clip. A while later, a fan tagged the five-time champion, which prompted him to write this.
I love it and have no disrespect for LeBron James, we’re Ohio brothers.
Harper replied
That last statement was one among many where he reiterated that he has no problem with what the 22-time All-Star said. Instead, he reiterated that his All-Star comments were not meant to disrespect his fellow Ohio native. Therefore, he was fine with his brother chirping a bit.

Having played alongside the great Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant, the shooting guard does not agree with LeBron James’ claims as the GOAT. However, he has also defended the Lakers’ superstar whenever critics come up with unverified opinions.
LeBron James is not interested in a farewell tour
Before the start of this season, LeBron James nearly sent basketball fans into a frenzy when he suggested he might retire after this campaign. It turned out to be a liquor campaign.

Apart from the jokes, his performances this season had many convinced that the 41-year-old could continue playing for a couple of more seasons.
But when The Athletic’s Dan Woike and Sam Amick spoke with their sources, they figured out that there is a chance that the father of three will retire.
The only reason there is no confirmed report about it is that King James does not want a farewell tour. That is a direct contradiction to what many believed.

His critics felt that, since the league’s oldest player has a penchant for staying relevant in the media, it is highly likely that the entire world will know when he is ready to walk away from the game. Now, that seems unlikely.
