After the Philadelphia 76ers traded for Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics, the odds of free agent superstar LeBron James joining them spiked.

It so happens that before the trade, the team was not even in consideration, even though they had apparently reached out to the King’s agent, Rich Paul.

With Paul George on the roster, the overlapping of skills convinced fans that James was not going to entertain the idea of joining them.

But now, with Jaylen Brown in the mix, the entire 76ers’ roster construction will enable them to exploit James’s playmaking and decision-making skills. But they are not the only team that can benefit from that.

The Golden State Warriors, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Denver Nuggets, and the Miami Heat are still in the running, and so is a certain team named the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The latter was considered a front-runner when the father of three was struggling with his relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in this past season.

However, after that disastrous ending to their 2025-26 season, many felt that the four-time champion might not want to join that team.

But now, the odds of him going back to the team that drafted him have increased to 58 percent. Odds for this surged on Polymarket once fans started noticing that James has been spending time at his house in Akron.

On top of that, extensive appearances at various venues around Cleveland have led to this boost in odds that LeBron James will probably end his career where it started.

LeBron James had another interesting reunion in Ohio

When Rich Paul pointed out that the Philadelphia 76ers front office has ties to LeBron James in the form of Mike Gansey, their new general manager, many felt those links could push the four-time champion to sign with them.

However, the Cavaliers also have similar ties. Their general manager position might be vacant after Gansey’s departure, but assistant general manager Brandon Weems is involved in a lot of the decisions.

It so happens that Weems was once on the same St. Vincent-St. Mary’s high school basketball team with LeBron James. He joined the Cavs as a scout during the superstar forward’s second stint with the franchise.

Earlier this week, when James decided to hold another reunion, this time bit is high school teammates, Weems was present. The presence of the Assistant GM will go on to boost the thought that the League’s all-time leading scorer might be inclined towards finishing his career with the Cavs.

All of this could be nothing, as James routinely spends time in Ohio in every offseason. But there is a reason why the Cavaliers are touted as one of the best possible destinations.

The team is one or two pieces away from being a true contender for the NBA championship next year. If they have a winner among them, such as James, it would greatly help them to take this next step.

As mentioned above, LeBron James was involved in a lot of businesses in and around Cleveland during his two stints there. After that, when he took his talents to Los Angeles, he began building his empire and eventually became a billionaire.

His connections to Hollywood helped him achieve that status, and he has continued to invest his money there. Usually, that would be enough for him, considering he has more than 98% of the population.

But then, pictures came up on social media tagging the four-time League MVP to a page named Yogasquaredakron. The 6’9″ superstar was captured with trainers and possibly some clients.

The free agent does not usually do that unless either of two things is true. One is that he has some investments in it, or he was asked by one of his close associates to promote it. If either of them is true, this proves again that he is truly trying to re-establish connections with his hometown.
