Kansas City Chiefs might be on a winning streak, but the season has not begun well for tight end Travis Kelce. In the last three matches, he failed to log a single touchdown and registered a mere 69 yards, which has led to immense backlash and criticisms.
The star tight end is mainly been criticized for being distracted by his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift, when a few months ago she was being referred to as a lucky charm for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.
While talking about the nine-time Pro Bowler’s underwhelming performance during the latest episode of The Facility, sports analyst and former NFL star LeSean McCoy shared that he isn’t really bothered by the slow start, as it is not affecting the team in any manner. He also dismissed the notion that the global pop star is distracting Kelce, especially when their romance started at the beginning of last season yet the Chiefs succeeded in clinching the Super Bowl trophy.
Last year was he not doing these things? Cause’ he went to a world series during the season. Talking about distractions– during the season though. He was dating Taylor Swift before all this. My thing is what did they do– they won a championship. And we sit here today and talk about, ‘Is he distracted?’ All he did last year was do the same things and go to the playoffs and score three touchdowns in the playoffs and four games.

McCoy taunted Kelce’s critics for making unnecessary fuss over his slow start and blaming his girlfriend for distracting him, when in fact, it is hardly causing any trouble for the team. Thus, he doesn’t consider it a distraction.
Travis Kelce struggles amid Taylor Swift’s increased camera time
Amid Kelce’s struggle, the 14-time Grammy winner has been making regular appearances at his games to be there for him and support him. However, the NFL is seeing this as a great business opportunity, thus increasing her camera presence and portraying her in the promotional videos more than the NFL players.
This has made the football fans quite angry and the tight end’s underwhelming performance has given his critics a chance to comment on his relationship. He is also reportedly having a hard time dealing with the stress over the backlash he has been receiving.
Although it’s not in Swift’s control of what telecasts at the NFL games, her camera presence at the games has instigated many discussions. Especially since the three-time Super Bowl champion needs to put all his focus on football to regain his form as last season when he recorded nearly 1,000 yards with 93 receptions.
