The Azerbaijan GP was a disappointing race for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. While Mercedes has often looked like the car to beat at certain tracks this year, their performances have fluctuated from race to race. After his win at Silverstone and a strong performance at the Belgian GP, fans believed the team had returned to form.

However, Hamilton’s P7 finish in Azerbaijan qualifying highlighted the team’s ongoing challenges. Ahead of the Singapore GP, he recalled the race in Baku and said that he was surprised by the difficulties he faced there, despite being one of the oldest and most experienced drivers on the grid.

Just when you think you’ve experienced it all and had the worst, you get slapped and surprised. That’s just motor racing, but I’m really hoping this weekend is stronger again.
Lewis Hamilton said

The 39-year-old felt uneasy after the criticism he faced in Baku. However, he stated he would approach the Singapore GP with a “zero-effs” mindset. The seven-time world champion aims to avoid letting negativity affect his performance.

I’m coming in with more of a ‘zero effs’ vibe either way, and it’ll be good either way.

Lewis Hamilton claims he is ready to give everything at the Singapore GP regardless of the outcome

Lewis Hamilton stated that his focus is currently on giving his best effort in Singapore, no matter what the outcome might be. However, it will not be easy for the Briton, as the track offers its own difficulties and challenges. It would be particularly tough due to high humidity, making it difficult for drivers to stay focused.

The competition has tightened, as McLaren now leads the Constructors’ Championships after clinching victory in Baku. To be competitive in racing, Mercedes needs to match McLaren’s pace for a positive outcome.
