The Briton had received massive support ever since his debut with the Italian constructor earlier this year. Now, as the 40-year-old raced around the Italian circuit for the first time, he was welcomed with massive applause and appreciation. Hamilton opened up on his feelings after visiting his first-ever home race with the Scuderia.
Lewis Hamilton‘s first testing session with Ferrari early on in the 2025 season had already witnessed a massive fan attendance in and around the circuit. Hamilton’s well-known personality, coupled with his impressive track record, meant that the Italian fans were all the more excited for his first race at the Emilia Romagna GP.
While Hamilton couldn’t achieve the race win or a podium finish, he still scored a great comeback in the race and finished in P4 after starting from P12. As such, the fans were even more delighted with the results. The 40-year-old reckoned that he was delighted after witnessing the Tifosi’s spirit around the circuit. The seven-time champion also thanked the fans for welcoming him with such great enthusiasm in true Ferrari style by forming a massive red sea.

Although Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to receiving such awesome welcoming during any race weekends, he still reckons that he has never seen anything so massive. The 40-year-old highlighted that he didn’t know what to expect heading into the Emilia Romagna GP, but was still surprised by witnessing such a big crowd of the public. Lewis Hamilton claims his Italian outing to be reminiscent of Michael Schumacher’s time
Before Lewis Hamilton, the legend Michael Schumacher was the one who was received with such great hospitality since his debut. The German achieved great success with the Italian constructor and was labeled a hero by the Tifosi. Now, Hamilton is trying his best to stay on the path and be hailed a hero by the fans.

Speaking upon his debut outing in Italy during a race, Hamilton pointed out that seeing big Ferrari flags at Turn 7 felt like something ‘vintage’ to him. He reckoned that it reminded him of the time of Michael Schumacher, and when he received such a great response from the fans. As such, the 40-year-old will always keep this experience in his heart and never forget it. Apart from the massive support, the Briton asserted that he didn’t expect to finish in P4, which made the event all the more special.
Seeing so many people, with a huge Ferrari flag at turn 7, seemed like something ‘vintage’ to me, when I watched Michael Schumacher running. It was really great to see, a unique experience that I will always keep in my heart. And I certainly didn’t expect to finish in fourth place today, starting so behind.
Lewis Hamilton noted
Despite massive performance issues at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton is still keeping up with the performance. The Italian constructor still has a long way to go in order to contend for either of the championships. Time will tell if Ferrari covers the massive gap in performance against their rivals this year. As things currently are, the Scuderia could lose the championship contention early on if they do not find immediate improvements in their results.
