Jon Jones defeated Dominic Reyes via decision at UFC 247

Dominic Reyes already feels he has registered a win over Jon Jones at UFC 247 earlier this year. However, the judges ruled the fight in favor of Jones, but most fanatics saw it the way around.

As Dominic Reyes looks to face Jan Blachowicz at UFC 253, he spoke about the same on the virtual media day. Reyes said“I got no interest in going up to heavyweight. If anyone wants to come down or up, I’m all for it. But I’m a light heavyweight, I’ve always been a light heavyweight, and I’m not going anywhere.”

Jon Jones had vacated his UFC Lightweight Championship because of a dispute with the organisation. Which led to the top contenders Dominic Reyes and Jan Blachowicz to contest for it at UFC 253.

Reyes was 12-0 before earning his shot against Jones, scoring notable wins against former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and light heavyweight contenders Volkan Oezdemir and Ovince Saint Preux. He fell just short of becoming the first fighter to score a non-disqualification win over Jones.

Speaking about the fight Reyes suggested that it is just another fight for him. Which he has to give his all.

“Part of me is, but at the same time it’s another fight,” Reyes said. “It’s all about ‘what have you done for me lately’ in this industry, and this fight is the latest and greatest Dom Reyes, so you’ll see.”

Dominic Reyes was also asked about his intentions on fighting against Adesanya, for which the former said that Light Heavyweight is his division and can fight anyone who comes to that division.

Whereas Blachowicz is coming off a spectacular KO win over Corey Anderson and will look to continue to winning streak. Courtesy of his skill set, he is currently on a three-fight winning streak. Having won seven of his last eight fights inside the octagon. Blachowicz has notable victories over Ronaldo Souza, Jared Cannonier, Corey Anderson, and Luke Rockhold.
