36-year old Lionel Messi, in a recent interview with ESPN Argentina, took a break from discussing football to speak about his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo. Married since 2017, the couple who have been together since childhood, are widely recognized as one of football’s most iconic pairs.

The Argentinean star first met his wife in their hometown of Rosario during childhood. The couple have been together for almost two decades, getting married in 2017. They have three sons, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro. Despite rumors about a strain in their relationship, coupled with marital issues and potential separation, their love has remained enduring.

The Inter Miami star expressed his profound admiration for Antonela Roccuzzo, saying that any words he uses to describe her would be insufficient. He emphasized her importance to him and that his wife meant everything in his life. The typically reserved Argentine spoke highly of his wife and her influence on his football career. Furthermore, Messi also exclaimed his desire to have a daughter, but had not planned it anyways.

The ex-Barcelona star is expected to hang up his boots sometime soon, having expressed satisfaction with his career accomplishments. Messi joined Inter Miami last summer, bringing an end to his 20-year stint in Europe playing for Barcelona and PSG. David Beckham’s side will be the last club he plays for, as mentioned in the recent interview.

Moreover, he could be joined by his fellow Miami and Barcelona teammates, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez, along with players he played in Spain, on his way out of the game. All of these players have also approached the dawn of their careers.
