Lions Amon Ra St. Brown picks a fight with Philadelphia Eagles, days after Super Bowl win
Lions' Amon Ra St. Brown wants the NFL to kick the 2025/26 season off by pitting his team against Super Bowl LIX winners Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles capped off a brilliant 2024 season by winning the Super Bowl at the expense of the Kansas City Chiefs. Jalen Hurts finally exacted his revenge for the Eagles 2022 exit, but now they are in the crosshairs of every other NFL team.
The Chiefs would be itching for a replay, but one other team wants the first bite shot at the Eagles. Amon Ra St. Brown, the Detroit Lions wide receiver, much like many football fans, wanted the Eagles to face the Lions at some point in the playoffs, but it never happened.
St. Brown and the Lions lost to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round even after recording their best-ever finish in the regular season 15-2. The Commanders suffered the same fate as the Lions by losing to the Eagles in the NFC Championship game.
Detroit’s monumental season will always be remembered as a missed opportunity for Dan Campbell’s side to win a Super Bowl. However, St. Brown isn’t someone to give up so easily.

The Lions already know which teams they will play in the 2025/26 season.
Home games: Chicago Bears (5-12), Green Bay Packers (11-6), Minnesota Vikings (14-3), Dallas Cowboys (7-10), New York Giants (3-14), Cleveland Browns (3-14), Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-7).
Road games: Chicago Bears (5-12), Green Bay Packers (11-6), Minnesota Vikings (14-3), Washington Commanders (12-5), Philadelphia Eagles (14-3), Cincinnati Bengals (9-8), Baltimore Ravens (12-5), Kansas City Chiefs (15-2) and Los Angeles Rams (10-7).
Despite drawing some of the toughest teams in the NFL, St. Brown wants to start the season by playing the Super Bowl winners, the Eagles.
Eagles have the home opener next year because they won the Super Bowl. Can I read you the list of teams that could be in that first game? Commanders, Cowboys, Giants, Raiders, Rams Broncos. Out of all those teams, if you’re the NFL who are you putting in there? We might be playing opening night.

The injuries in the defense weakened the Lions in the playoffs. If players such as Aidan Hutchinson were available, then perhaps the team from Detroit could have had a better chance of winning.
According to StatMuse, the Eagles lead the Lions 6-4 in the last 10 fixtures. During the last meeting back in November of 2022, the Eagle edged out the Lions 38-35. Amon Ra St. Brown had 8 receptions for 64 yards and one touchdown in the game.
