“I’m the best point guard in the league!” – Lonzo Ball reflects on his place among the best guards in the league
Lonzo Ball reflects on his place among the best guards in the league, recalling when he considered himself the best in the world.

Chicago Bulls’ Lonzo Ball has seen his career plagued by persistent injuries
Chicago Bulls’ Lonzo Ball is one very unfortunate hooper as he has seen his once-blooming career stunted by persistent injuries. In a recent conversation on the ‘WAE Show,’ he shared his thoughts on his place among the best guards in the league as he considered himself the best in the world at his position.
Before he got injured, Lonzo Ball was on a good run where he averaged 14.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game on 61% shooting. But this all came crashing down as the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic and a brutal knee injury was all it took for the 2017 number two pick to suffer a setback.
Every time I catch my stride, something goes wrong I ain't gonna cap. Either I get hurt or that one year I was in New Orleans, COVID came out of nowhere. If you look back on that month before COVID, if you ask me I'm the best point guard in the league.Lonzo Ball said on the WAE Show
Ball’s last healthy season was with the Pelicans. During that run, he averaged 11.8 points, 7.0 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game on 40.3% shooting. Although those numbers don’t exactly put him in the mix for the best point guard at the time, he was considered a valuable two-way player and highly rated as a key contributor to the Pelicans’ rotation.
The Chicago Bulls would be expecting he stays fit this coming season, after a successful meniscus surgery, and if he does there’s hope that he can live up to his lofty expectations and family name. Until then, the Bulls would have to battle it out in the East with the mindset that he might not be as consistent as expected.
