WATCH: Los Angeles Lakers’ new coaching staff BRAWL is going viral from 31 years ago
Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff is beginning to take shape.

Los Angeles Lakers and JJ Redick's new coach's Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks brawl from 31 years ago is going viral
After becoming the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, JJ Redick made it clear that he wanted some experienced coaches as part of his staff – coaches who would not be afraid to question his decisions. For this, they hired two former head coaches, Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks, who have experience handling superstars and have a winning record. However, they also have a history, which went viral after 31 years once the announcement was made.
The said incident occurred during the 1993 Western Conference Semi-Finals when McMillan and the Seattle SuperSonics battled against Brooks’ Houston Rockets. On a drive to the rim, Brooks was trying to clamp down the much bigger McMillan and trying to swipe the ball away from his hand. To get Brooks off the defensive positioning, McMillan bumped him a couple of times. Ultimately, in one sequence, McMillan’s elbow caught Brooks’ jaw as the Rockets guard swiped the ball out of McMillan’s hand. Once this happened, Scott Brooks grabbed McMillan with both hands and both men grappled each other.

Ultimately, they had to be separated so that the game would continue. The video of this altercation has now gone viral as both will be part of the coaching staff to assist JJ Redick. It must be noted that Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks, both were head coaches of the SuperSonics and then the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Therefore, it can be safely assumed that they will not let any stone remain unturned when getting their point across. Something that will be a major positive for the Los Angeles Lakers looking to build a championship squad.
Los Angeles Lakers staff taking shape but needs young coaches
JJ Redick finally has 2 former head coaches who have a winning record. More importantly, he knows they will question his decisions. But he is still waiting for the other side of his ‘duality’ approach to a coaching staff. Younger coaches are essential to the Lakers’ success. As they are the ones who will be working with players directly.
In that role, Redick needs coaches who are not afraid to tell the players if they are wrong. More importantly, players should respect those coaches. The likes of former Lakers champions Rajon Rondo and Jared Dudley are coaches who fit these criteria. Redick has to push GM Rob Pelinka to lure them to sign on the dotted line so that they can start work as soon as possible.
The Los Angeles Lakers have to make do with their current roster. Therefore, their NBA title chances hinge upon the development of the younger stars.
