When an intriguing matchup in the combat sports community occurs, several prominent fighters often react to it. Recently, the highly anticipated and controversial fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson took place a few hours ago. Interestingly, several fighters, including UFC superstar Conor McGregor, were not pleased with the outcome of the fight and even criticized Paul afterward.
Conor McGregor was particularly disappointed by Jake Paul’s victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson. Following this, the UFC superstar took to social media, where he criticized the YouTuber-turned-boxer in a widely discussed tirade. As such, McGregor referred to one of the most talked-about cases of brain damage in boxing, that of Prichard Colon.

Prichard Colon was a promising Puerto Rican boxing prodigy whose career took a tragic turn. Following his fight against Terrel Williams in 2015, Colon was later diagnosed with a left-sided subdural hematoma at the hospital.
Following a recommended surgery, Colon spent 221 days in a coma. Currently, the Puerto Rican boxer has yet to fully recover. Now, McGregor used Colon’s example to suggest Paul only fights people who are not a threat.

There’s another reason for the Irishman to lash out at the ‘Problem Child’. Before the fight, he placed an undisclosed bet on Tyson. However, after the defeat, McGregor once again lost money on a combat sports event. Interestingly, McGregor and Paul have never liked each other and have often insulted one another. Meanwhile, the Irishman shares the opposite bond with the Problem Child’s recent opponent.

The Irishman is known for staying active on his social media handles during intriguing fight nights. Interestingly, before his fight against Jake Paul, a viral moment featured Tyson in a distressing outfit. Among the hilarious reactions online, McGregor had a particularly wild response.

Regarding the Tyson vs. Paul fight, many fighters, much like McGregor, expressed similar reactions to the controversial matchup. Undefeated boxers like Gervonta Davis and Terence Crawford didn’t like the legend fighting Paul. Pretty much everyone feels the same way after watching the lackluster main event on Netflix.
