Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz and Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner are currently dominating the men’s tour. The two players shared the first two Grand Slam titles of the season. While Sinner picked up the Australian Open title in January, Alcaraz clinched the title in Paris to take his total tally of Grand Slam titles to three.

With the two players exhibiting high levels of determination and skill, the talks about Sinner and Alcaraz reaching the same level as the Big Three of men’s tennis have picked pace. Although the two players have a mountain to climb to achieve the numbers the Big Three- Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have achieved in their careers, experts see potential in them.

The two players are said to possess an almost similar set of skills as the three players. Quite a few experts have claimed that Alcaraz possesses the quality of all three players from the Big Three. Sinner, meanwhile, has shown consistency and ability to beat the best players on the tour. Amid these talks, French tennis player Lucas Pouille has shared his verdict on whether the two players will be able to reach the level of Big Three.

Lucas Pouille feels consistency can be issue for Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

The Frenchman admitted that Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are almost at the same level as the Big Three in terms of their tennis. However, he feels that the consistency that the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic showed at the highest level will be difficult to match.

Pouille also highlighted injuries as a deciding factor. The Frenchman feels that it is a tough production to make at the moment because there are several other factors that will decide this thing.

It’s impossible to answer… It depends on so many things. The tennis level yes, I think Alcaraz and Sinner are as strong as the three. The question is whether they will succeed in having the consistency of the Big Three, of the Big Four even. Will they have the consistency to play at a high-level week after week? Only the future will tell us. Will their motivation drop, will they get injured more or less? It's very hard to say...Today, the two are of the same caliber as the four best we could have had for several years. But whether they will do as well or better, I think we cannot say today.
Lucas Pouillle said in an interview to Tennis ACTU.

Notably, Sinner has won one Grand Slam title while Alcaraz has won three Grand Slam titles. The 21-year-old Spaniard has won all three titles on different surfaces and only has the Australian Open to conquer. Also, Sinner and Alcaraz are pushing each other to the limit. In the nine matches played against each other, Alcaraz has won five while Sinner has four to his name.
