Ludwig Kaiser, who’s currently under the guise of El Grande Americano, was recently arrested on battery charges pressed by his fellow apartment resident over an incident that happened on April 23. Kaiser turned himself in this past Wednesday after a warrant had been issued. He got released on a $1000 bond and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or witnesses at all.

Kaiser was escorted to his apartment by law enforcement officers. The 35-year-old had also submitted a written plea stating he wasn’t guilty, and his attorneys filed a motion to allow him free travel in the wake of his upcoming Mask vs. Mask showdown with the Original El Grande Americano on May 30.

The court records have shown that the state isn’t objecting to the said motion. WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield reviewed the entire situation on the Something to Wrestle podcast. JBL firmly backed Kaiser by noting the complainant didn’t need to escalate the matter by calling the cops. Bradshaw refused to believe that Kaiser would punch anybody.

‘The Wrestling God’ affirmed that he’s seen enough altercations in his life to know that the involved parties often deviate from the truth of the matter. In this situation as well, JBL thought that the reality was somewhere in the middle. The 59-year-old still picked Kaiser’s side by saying he didn’t appear a hothead to him.

The Texas-born wrestling great said that the victim would’ve brought it on himself if what he claimed actually happened to him. Raj Giri, formerly of Wrestling Inc., revealed that he was told the complainant threatened to call the ICE on the woman that was there with Ludwig Kaiser in the elevator they were in. Giri noted she was none other than Kaiser’s girlfriend.

Ludwig Kaiser gets huge reception upon his return to Mexico as El Grande Americano

Since there’s no objection to his travel, as the court records have shown, Ludwig Kaiser, dressed as El Grande Americano, showed up at the ‘Serenata for El Grande Americano’ event in Mexico City on Friday. He almost teared up seeing the downpour of support from the locals. Americano would eventually engage in serenading the hymns with the crowd that was gathered for him.

The leader of Los Americanos is set for the biggest match of his career against the leader of Los Americanos Hermanos at AAA’s Noche De Los Grandes this Saturday. A few weeks ago, the faction leaders met for the official contract signing of their high-stakes matchup. The original El Grande Americano demanded no pre-match physicality first.

While that was expected and not anything out of line, the OG then asked for the firing of Andrea Bazarte, who happened to be the lover and real-life girlfriend of Ludwig Kaiser, aka El Grande Americano. It got the latter riled up. Chad Gable, the OG version of El Grande Americano, kept talking trash to his rival and wanted Bazarte gone to sign the contract for the Mask vs. Mask showdown.

Bazarte told Kaiser to not worry about her and completely focus on taking out Gable. The plausible payoff to their match this weekend could very well see the OG El Grande Americano get unmasked as Chad Gable and permanently end his guise of a luchador. It seems next to impossible for Ludwig Kaiser to be the one getting his mask removed due to how popular he has gotten with the core audience of AAA.

Many fans believe that he might stay under that mask as long as it’s working. The Latin American wrestling fanbase has turned El Grande Americano into a deity-like figure, and it doesn’t seem like Ludwig Kaiser would want to be relegated to being an otherwise mid-card act on WWE television, at least in the foreseeable future.
