Luis Suarez ‘REJECTS’ several offers as he looks to reunite with Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard’s arrival at Aston Villa has shaken up things quite a bit and the club looks to be finally moving in the right direction. However former Barcelona and now Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez is reportedly focused on a reunion with Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa as the striker is out of favour at Atletico Madrid. 

Suarez who played with Gerrard at Liverpool for almost three-and-a-half years before signing for FC Barcelona in 2014. Suarez is keen on working with his former teammate and is attracted to the project at Aston Villa. Spanish Journalist Gerard Romero claims that the Uruguayan international have rejected three clubs in Brazil namely Palmeiras, Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro and also a very lucrative offer from a club in Saudi Arabia as his main aim now is to play for Aston Villa under Steven Gerrard.

The journalist also claims that the former England captain has held talks with the striker who’s current contract at Atletico Madrid end in the summer, which means that the West Midlands club outfit can acquire the services of Luis Suarez for free.

Here is what Gerrard said about Luis Suarez back in 2015, “I don’t think anyone ever looks forward to playing against Luis Suarez, he is a fantastic talent and a very dangerous player. He is a fantastic team-mate, probably the best player I have played with.”

Steven Gerrard was successful in bringing former teammate Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa on loan till the end of the season with an obligation to buy for £33 million in the summer. The Brazilian midfielder made an instant impact for Aston Villa in a 2-2 against Manchester United scoring the equaliser after coming on as a second half substitute. If the Brazilian can replicate the form he showed for Liverpool before his move to Barcelona then Aston Villa fans would be in for a treat. 

Now Luis Suarez is also linked to the club the former teammates at Liverpool and Barcelona can get Aston Villa to European football. Aston Villa also secured the signing of Lucas Digne from Everton in this transfer window with the French international going directly into the starting line up against Manchester United.
