Luka Doncic is predicted to be the MVP over Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 2020-21 season

Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic is no less than a magician with a ball in his hand on the court. Be it clutch shots or game changing plays, Doncic knows and has done it all for his franchise. The 2019 Rookie of the Year reveals he is all set to compete for the MVP this season. Doncic has started this season in ‘All Guns Blazing’ form with victories over Milwaukee Bucks in the pre-season.

They might have lost to the Phoenix Suns in a nail-biting match, but Doncic was phenomenal with his 32 points in the game. Although earlier fanatics have mentioned their concerns about Doncic not been in proper shape for the season. But this doesn’t concern the player. In a recent interview Doncic spoke about meeting the expectations of the people that back him to be the MVP.

Doncic spoke to ESPN’s The Jump about his expectations from the season. He said, “I think I can do it. But that is not my first goal. Far from it. It is great to see that. But my goal is to always win a championship. I don’t think it is just mine, it is the whole organizations’ goal. Hopefully, someday we can achieve it.”

After being picked up by Mark Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks in 2018. Doncic was expected to carry the torch left by legend Dirk Nowitzki in the franchise. After Mavs missed the playoff for 3 consecutive years, Doncic made that happen last season.

In the playoffs, Dončić made things extremely difficult for the second-seed LA Clippers. Many remember Dončić making that last-second three-pointer to get the victory. However, with Kristaps Porzingis injured midway through the series, Doncic could not get Dallas over the Clippers. But with the entire squad by his side this season, will Doncic be able to take the Mavs to the ultimate distance?
