In Short
  • Luka Doncic's fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, has filed a petition for child support for their two daughters.
  • The couple ended their engagement amid disputes over custody and child support arrangements.
  • Doncic has expressed a desire for his daughters to live with him in the U.S. during the NBA season.

When Luka Doncic arrived in Los Angeles through that blockbuster trade between the Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, he had his family, including his father, his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, and their daughter Gabriela, in tow.

The East Coast-based franchise rolled out the red carpet for the Slovenians, ensuring they feel comfortable as they get acclimatised to their new surroundings.

They eventually did become comfortable, as his father, fiancée, and his daughter were given the VIP treatment during the rest of the 2025-26 season.

In fact, Goltes, who has been with the 6’8″ guard for most of his life, became comfortable enough that she and Doncic planned for another child. Then, on December 4th last year, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Olivia.

Luka Doncic’s partner, Anamaria Goltes, just filed a petition for child support of their two minor children … this, according to documents obtained by TMZ Sports.

TMZ reported

The publication got their hands on documents where the model and influencer has petitioned that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar provide child support and pay her legal fees.

Surprisingly, she did not file for custody. But both their daughters are with her in Slovenia, despite pleas from her former fiancé for him to have his daughters with him.

If Goltes gives up custody, she will not receive child support. Therefore, this could turn out to be an ugly battle between the Lakers guard and the mother of his two children.

Luka Doncic ended his engagement with Anamaria Goltes over child support battle

While Anamaria Goltes is in Slovenia, she has filed the petition in California. When ESPN’s Dave McMenamin caught up with Luka Doncic to ask about this situation, the superstar replied.

I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.

Luka Doncic said, as quoted by Dave McMenamin

In his statement to McMenamin and ESPN, the 27-year-old also expressed how he wants his daughters to be with him, and he was ready to do anything needed to get them back from his home country.

As per the ESPN journalist, Doncic wanted to bring his older daughter, Gabriela, back with him to the United States when he was in Slovenia during Olivia’s birth.

Apparently, he and Goltes got into an argument, and she ended up calling the police even after the five-time All-NBA first-teamer left the hospital.

No charges were filed, but it seems that the incident, along with the breakdown in Luka Doncic’s relationship with his longtime girlfriend and fiancée, led him to end their engagement.

NBA fines Luka Doncic $50K for ‘money’ gesture to referees

Over the past several days, Luka Doncic has been in the news for the wrong reasons. Be it criticism about his incessant complaining, or his ball-hogging, and lack of defensive effort, everyone seemed to have something to say.

Now, his personal life has become a matter of public curiosity, as the superstar has ended his engagement and has not seen his daughters for more than two days since the start of training camp.

On top of that, now, the NBA has fined him $50K for ‘directing an inappropriate and unprofessional gesture’ towards an official. In essence, the league reprimanded him for his ‘money’ gesture towards officials after he was not awarded a charge in their win against the Knicks.

This is not the first time Luka Doncic has been fined for such a gesture. Therefore, it seems that after signing the three-year $165 million deal last offseason.
