More than twenty-four hours have passed, but the world is still shaking from the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis takes his place on the Dallas Mavericks in a trade that was done with utmost secrecy.

It was so secret that even Mavericks staff, players and even those on the Lakers were unaware. That meant both organizations looked out for their best interests and even interrupted LeBron James, who had to get up from a family dinner to soak in what just transpired.

That also meant Doncic, Davis and other players who were part of the trade were left stunned. Kevin Durant called out the double standards media has as players usually bear the brunt whenever they want to leave. Sasa Doncic, father of the Slovenian superstar echoed the same.

With this trade, their hypocrisy hurts me personally. I think Luka absolutely did not deserve this. I know he sacrificed a lot. I know Luka really respected Dallas. He played 100 games last season for like 40 minutes per game, constantly being doubled. I feel it’s really unfair from certain people from Dallas.

The basketball coach’s words seem to suggest that the Dallas Mavericks essentially shoved their leading superstar out of the door. I wish Luka the best. It was a joy to play with him in those 22 games we were together, but we’re obviously going to welcome AD with open arms. It’s the nature of the business, you have to be professional with all things in front of you.
