Alex Pereira is currently one of the biggest stars on the UFC roster. The light heavyweight champion is scheduled to defend his title against top contender Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313. Ahead of the title clash, the Russian has now issued a stern warning at the Brazilian champion. 

Going into the fight, one of the best narratives is how well Pereira will do against Ankalaev’s wrestling. As a result, Pereira recently shared a video of him wrestling with his coach and UFC legend Glover Teixeira in the snow. As the video went viral, Ankalaev made sure to drop a sneaky comment.

Few months ago while calling out Pereira, Magomed Ankalaev promised that he would not wrestle against the champion. He talked about striking and potentially knocking out the Brazilian giant. However, it seems like the Russian has now changed his game plan, and plans to utilize every trick under his sleeve.

This doesn’t seem to alarm the champion who is confident about his wrestling. In his last bout, Ankalaev’s lackluster performance raised a few concerns among fight fans. Nevertheless, all these questions will finally be answered at UFC 313 as fans will tune in for the title clash.

According to MVP, Pereira’s movement and quick reactions make him a threat anytime inside the octagon. 

Someone you have to respect is Alex Pereira. Right now he’s on a killing spree. It’s more to do with his power but at the same time when you look at some of his pull-backs, it’s very boxing-esque. He’s got a nice pull-back, lands his shots really well. He’s very well drilled, crazy head movement and fast reactions and countering people and that crazy power as well.

Last year, Alex Pereira defended his belt thrice, knocking out all his opponents. He has not faced defeat in his last five bouts, and his confidence is at an all-time high. On top of that, Pereira’s star power is growing at a staggering rate making him a global superstar. It remains to be seen if that left-hook comes in handy against Ankalaev next month.
