Edge has delayed his plans of finalizing opponent for Wrestlemania

The no.1 entrant on the Royal Rumble match, Edge outlasted 29 opponents. He won the Royal Rumble match and will now be headlining the grandest show of all, Wrestlemania.

The Rated-R superstar has earned the right to go after any WWE title of his choice at Wrestlemania. But the question is which title will Edge go after – the Universal Championship or the WWE Championship. There seems to be an answer for this now.

Reportedly, the current plan is to have Edge challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship. The duo will be main-eventing Wrestlemania. Wrestling Observer revealed that WWE does not want to pit a babyface against another babyface.

The WWE Universe will be attending Wrestlemania 37. So it would not make sense to force the fans to choose between two of the top current babyfaces in the company. Fans turning on either of them is the last thing the company would want.

While the report suggested that this match is 100% booked, its unclear when the match will be officially announced. However, the plans for Bianca Belair are still unclear.

The idea of a Spear vs Spear match is itself exciting enough. But the build up to the match could be cool too. We could Edge teaming up with Christian to face The Usos. Considering the news of this match has now leaked, WWE could make an official announcement soon.

In fact, on the latest episode of Raw, it was announced that Edge will be appearing on the upcoming episode of Smackdown. We could see an official announcement being made then.
