The World Heavyweight title scene is packed right now, with Gunther topping the ranks as the champion. After successfully defeating Randy Orton at the Bash in Berlin PLE, The Ring General quickly found a new challenger in the form of Sami Zayn. According to reports, the match between the WrestleMania rivals could take place at the Bad Blood PLE on October 5.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4W Daily, the match between Gunther and Sami Zayn for the World Heavyweight title is listed in the internal lineup for Bad Blood. If this match is added to the Bad Blood card, it will break the usual 5-match format, making it the sixth match on the card.
The Ring General knew the threat Zayn posed, as he was the one who ended his longest reigning Intercontinental Title reign at WrestleMania XL. After returning from stem cell therapy at the RejuvStem clinic in Mexico, The Ultimate Underdog came out to challenge him for the title. The 37-year-old champion declined the challenge, much to the fans’ disappointment.
The same thing happened again when WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart and Zayn both called him a coward for not accepting the challenge. Only time will tell whether this match will happen at Bad Blood. In addition, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will continue their rivalry in a Hell in a Cell match. Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan is another must-watch match on the card.
