Last week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes had a bad landing while performing his famous move. It was a horrifying scene, as it looked like the new champion might have injured his shoulder. Rhodes himself looked concerned after the crash. However, a new report has finally shed some light on the incident.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the injury might not be significant. WWE never mentioned anything about the fall, and they didn’t even mention the American Nightmare on the injury page. Therefore, it suggests that although the landing was rough, no major damage was done.
It all went down on SmackDown when Cody Rhodes squared off against Carmelo Hayes. The two stars delivered a stellar performance. However, after a picturesque sequence, fans noticed Rhodes’ rough fall. As such, his marquee match against AJ Styles was in jeopardy.
With this good news from the latest report, it feels like the match with the Phenomenal One is secured. The American Nightmare won the Undisputed Championship after a hard-fought victory. Therefore, dropping the title at this point due to an injury would be devastating.
Cody Rhodes on his biggest goal in WWE
Cody Rhodes has been a successful wrestler. WWE sees him as the biggest superstar of the next generation. Therefore, the company has massive trust in him. Recently, the American Nightmare revealed his main goal in WWE. He mentioned being at the height of Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena when he hangs up his boots.
Speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast, Rhodes stated that he wants to be the most profitable WWE superstar of all time. He named the Cenation Leader and the Texas Rattlesnake, who are on that list. Besides, those stars have defined the generation. Taking inspiration from them, the Undisputed Champion also wishes to have his name among those legends.
I would like to be the most profitable talent that WWE has ever had. I know who hangs in that group. You know, your Austin 3:16’s, your ‘Hustle Loyalty, Respect’, your John Cena’s. I know what I have been doing, and I know the link that I have to keep doing this for this goal to become a reality.Cody Rhodes via Cheap Heat
The American Nightmare has been highly popular among fans. Also, many WWE legends have previously endorsed him, already making him a star. With a huge target on his back, many stars are targeting him, including the Final Boss, The Rock, who has declared he will be coming after him.
