Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin. It was a terrific match where both the stars went back and forth. Following the match, it was revealed that the American Nightmare will be facing Solo Sikoa in the weeks to come. It is supposed to be a SummerSlam rematch. Now, a major update has emerged over the status of the mega match.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this match will not be taking place at Bad Blood. He added that it is likely to take place on a random episode of SmackDown. Meltzer opined that it is possible it is scheduled for the season premiere episode of SmackDown on USA Network on September 13.
There has been no confirmation as of now. However, it seems this is the possible direction for this rematch. Besides, there is a huge chance of Roman Reigns returning at SmackDown Season Premier, which might make this lackluster match captivating for the fans. Therefore, he might once again cost Solo Sikoa and help Cody Rhodes win the match against the crooked Bloodline.
Bad Blood will be taking place in Atlanta. It is the hometown of the Undisputed Champion. Therefore, Rhodes is likely to have a match. He might have another star step up as his challenger down the line. However, for Sikoa, a singles match with the Tribal Chief is seemingly the plan for him.
Cody Rhodes claimed if fans knew the original plans for WrestleMania 40 they would have been angry
Cody Rhodes made history at WrestleMania XL. He became the Undisputed Champion and finished his story under the bright lights of Philadelphia. However, it has been revealed several times that it was not the original plan. Recently, the American Nightmare talked about this situation in one of his interviews.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, the Undisputed Champion thanked the team he had who helped him for WrestleMania XL. Although he didn’t reveal the actual plan for the show, he openly claimed that it would have made fans pretty much angry. Rhodes called it The Rock’s plan for the show and said it wouldn’t have worked.
If people knew the real plan for me, they’d be even more angry. I can’t share the real plan for you, The Rock plan, whatever it may be. That was going to be on my mind in terms of how do we make that work? How do we accomplish that? I had a really good team of people around me.Cody Rhodes via Inside The Ropes
Everything is set and done now. It has been almost 5 months since WrestleMania XL. It was a spectacular event that created a lot of memories for the fans. The Final Boss had a huge role in the preparation for the Grandest Stage of Them All this year. All eyes are now on WrestleMania 41, where all these stars are going to align yet again for another unexpected event.
