There is a little over a day left until all trades are required to be sealed. For the Los Angeles Lakers, talks about trading Russell Westbrook have been one of the biggest topics surrounding their name. The Lakers have not shown much interest nor have they shown signs of wanting to trade the superstar.
By the way teammates Anthony Davis and LeBron James have spoken to the media recently, it seems like they are confident about Westbrooks future with the team for the remainder of the season. Davis has openly said that they are willing to make things work and out in as much effort as it takes.
In terms of trade controversies, Westbrook was rumored to be shipped to a number of places. A few of these places are New York, Philadelphia, and Portland. While none of these teams have given the trade a thought, it seems like a few players have.

Another team that has suffered just as much as the Los Angeles Lakers has is the Portland Trail Blazers. After having one of their worst starts to a season losing multiple games in a row it seems like their players are now trying to take matters into their own hands.
Damian Lillard, their veteran point guard has been with the team since his debut with the NBA. Ever since he has emerged as one of the league’s best point guards and players securing a spot among the NBA 75th anniversary list. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and so did Lillard’s interests in carrying the team.
During the commencement of the season, he had also endured an awkward scoring slump averaging well under 20 points per game. Many believe this may have been the cause of the Blazers’ lackluster start but they were soon proved wrong. The only difference between these two teams is that the Blazers had built a solid foundation over the years and the Lakers acquired it. On both accounts, they have not understood a proper winning system.
Amid the chaos of the trade deadline fast approaching, Damian Lillard took to his Instagram live and passed on a statement that shocked the masses. “ (to LeBron James) Ay man make that call bruh, tell them they need to make a decision,” said Lillard. This acquisition has been long spoken about but the “Westbrick” situation just unraveled it further. For the Lakers, swapping for Dame would require them to ship Russell Westbrook, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Malik Monk.
