Welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal is one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster. Masvidal is mostly known for his striking and kickboxing skills. He is responsible for the fastest knockout in UFC history. The Miami-born fighter has fought formidable opponents in the octagon in his career.
With UFC 287 around the corner, fans are excited to watch the promising fights. Jorge Masvidal vs Gilbert Burns is the co-main event in UFC 287. ‘The Gamebred’ walks into this fight with a loss against Colby Covington. Masvidal said that if a loss is repeated in this fight, he would retire. The Floridian is putting it all on the line for UFC 287 as his career is dependent on it. Jorge also said that he could move forward in his career only if victory is on his side.
On the UFC 287 edition of ‘The Countdown,’ “This could be the last one,” said Masvidal. “If I lose, I’m pretty much calling it quits. But a win against Gilbert means that things are headed in the right direction. So if I roll the dice and I do everything right, I’m going for it all. For one title or many titles,” concluded Jorge.
The Gamebred seems set on this decision. Seemingly, the fight against Gilbert Burns is a tough fight for Jorge. He is willing to risk it all for his chances. Fans of Jorge are excited as well as nervous about this fight. Since this could be his last fight, Masvidal is willing to compromise.

Jorge Masvidal’s longest streak of losses of three main bouts
With a record of 35 wins and 16 losses, Jorge Masvidal’s career has seen better days. Despite being responsible for the fastest KO in UFC, he is now in a three-fight losing streak. ‘The Gamebred’ is risking it all for his career in UFC 287 against Gilbert Burns. Especially, Burns being the favourite to win in betting odds, this could possibly be his last fight.
In his latest fight against Colby Covington, Masvidal lost on a unanimous decision. Although the fight was close, Colby managed to control the pace better than Jorge did. Covington seemed to be the better striker of the night. ‘The Chaos’ landed more significant strikes than Jorge could. Colby’s attempt at takedowns worked hugely in his favor in the fight. Masvidal seemed gutted after the loss as their rivalry was scorching during the pre-fights.
With the first fight against Kamaru Usman, his wrestling got the better of Jorge. Much like Colby, Usman was able to control the pacing of the fight. In the end, Usman won with a unanimous decision. Although the second fight, Kamaru Usman managed to knock out Jorge in the 2nd round. Jorge Masvidal lost both fights against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.
Fans are eager to witness Jorge Masvidal’s performance in the upcoming UFC 287. Talking about retirement, this could possibly be Jorge’s final fight in the UFC. With a three-fight losing streak, fans hope ‘The Gamebred’ will emerge victorious this time.
