Malik Nabers is predicted to be one of the top three wide receivers taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, the LSU product is confident he can do some damage even as a quarterback.
As April 25 gets closer, every football fan wants to know about the best talent lined up in the draft. On that note, the NFL’s official X (Twitter) handle shared a video of former Tigers playmaker Malik Nabers.
At first glance, many might guess it’s a montage of catches or a training routine. However, the clip showed Nabers as a quarterback. Better yet, the 20-year-old can be heard saying that he might be better than some of the best in the NFL.
The first few seconds of the clip showed Nabers speaking, perhaps to the NFL social media crew. He said,
I was always good at catching the ball. But at first, I started playing quarterback.Malik Nabers said
Then it quickly switched to training ground footage, where he could be seen throwing some passes.
[Let me] show you all a real quarterback. No, Lamar [Jackson]. [Throws the ball] Dot. I am really a quarterback in a receiver's body. I just like the ball being in my hands all the time. [Throws another pass] straight to his dome. [Lobs a deep pass] better than [Patrick] Mahomes.Malik Nabers can be heard saying
Malik Nabers to the Los Angeles Chargers?
Despite loads of mock drafts, every major football website goes through, nothing is guaranteed. Anything can happen during the draft day. Yet there are always a few indications where a player might want to settle during his NFL career.
Malik Nabers, who always drew comparisons with his LSU predecessor and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, gave social media one such hint for his preferred NFL destination. PFT‘s Cameron Wolfe reported last week that the Louisiana native was in LA last Tuesday for a top-30 visit to the Los Angeles Chargers.
While in the Californian city, Nabers went live on Instagram and seemed to announce that he was house hunting.
Cali!! It would be nice walking outside my house like this.Nabers said
The Los Angeles Chargers would love to acquire a wide receiver because they have none. Veteran Keenan Allen left to join the Chicago Bears, and Mike Williams settled with the New York Jets. Their current WR room has 2021 third-round pick Joshua Palmer, who has barely played since entering the league, and former TCU man Quentin Johnston.
Additionally, running back Austin Ekeler signed with the Washington Commanders, which prompted the Chargers to get Gus Edwards from Baltimore. Quarterback Justin Herbert needs a quality receiver, and Malik Nabers could prove to be that target man.
